Fast Dynamics, Devices, and Measurements for Beyond CMOS Devices

Presenters: J. Bokor, A. Pattabi, R. Ramesh (UC Berkeley)

Abstract
Device switching speed and the physics underlying the dynamics are of keen interest for the Beyond CMOS devices  (both ferroelectric and spintronic) being investigated in Theme 2. Probing the fundamental limits of the dynamics of the switching phenomena is of both fundamental and technological interest.  Several techniques (optical, electrical) have been developed to probe the true time dynamics of such systems. In this talk we will review fundamentals of psec to sub-nsec dynamics in relevant materials, and recent results on psec spin-orbit torque switching and ferroelectric switching.

This meeting is only available to the JUMP research community, such as Principal Investigators, Postdoc researchers, Students, and Industry/Government liaisons.
