In situ, atomic resolution TEM imaging of (anti)-ferroelectric polarization switching in ZrO2 and experimental demonstration of coupled ferroelectric oscillators

Presenter: Asif Kahn (Georgia Tech)

Abstract: In the first part of the talk, we will present our recent experiments on direct visualization of  grain structure evolution in (anti-)ferroelectric ZrO2 with an applied electric field. High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images of field-induced phase transitions in a 10 nm ZrO2 film are captured with atomic resolution in real time using a Nanofactory double-tilt electrical probing TEM sample stage. In the second part, we will talk about the experimental demonstration of the capacitive coupling of ferroelectric oscillators.

This meeting is only available to the JUMP research community, such as Principal Investigators, Postdoc researchers, Students, and Industry/Government liaisons.
