Suman Datta Appointed Stinson Professor of Nanotechnology

University of Notre Dame Engineering recently announced Suman Datta, ASCENT Director, and member of the Center for Nano Science and Technology (NDnano) as the newly appointed Stinson Professor of Nanotechnology. 

Datta currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2015, he held a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Materials Research Institute at The Pennsylvania State University. He also served as a principal engineer in the Advanced Transistor and Nanotechnology Group at Intel Corporation.

The Stinson Professorship of Nanotechnology was established in 2014 by Kenneth and Ann Stinson in support of a faculty member specializing in nanotechnology to continue to grow Notre Dame's leadership in this area. Stinson, a 1964 graduate (civil engineering) of Notre Dame and an emeritus member of the University's Board of Trustees, is chairman emeritus of Peter Kiewit Son's, Inc. In addition, he has served as a member of the advisory council of the college of engineering and also on the boards of ConAgra Foods, Inc. and Valmont Industries, Inc.
