Title: Materials and Device Approaches for Next Generation High-frequency RF Filters

Presenters: Jeffrey Miller and Debdeep Jena, Cornell University

Abstract: As communication systems move up to higher (5G and 6G) frequencies, devices that can pull out the desired signal from the crowded and noisy electromagnetic spectra are desired. There are no known materials or device solutions for such high-frequency RF filters that can operate at 10s to 100s of GHz frequency, and still be miniature enough for mobile communications.  In this presentation, we present a brief overview of this enormous challenge and the equally exciting opportunity, and how in ASCENT we are using new material combinations, and integration of passive and active Aluminum-Nitride based piezoelectric and transistor components to meet them.

This meeting is only available to the JUMP research community, such as Principal Investigators, Postdoc researchers, Students, and Industry/Government liaisons
